About Me

Kathryn Strietmann first honed her artistic voice at the ArtCenter College of Design, where she concentrated on packaging design and illustration. During her studies, she immersed herself in the precision and creativity required by design disciplines, mastering both visual storytelling and the technical demands of polished illustration. That foundation would later prove invaluable as she embarked on her professional journey.
After graduating, Kathryn relocated to New York, joining the city’s bustling creative sphere. In that chapter, she contributed illustrations to prestigious publications like The New York Times, merging her design rigor with journalistic sensibility. Her visual language expanded there: she became fluent in translating ideas to images under tight deadlines, while cultivating an aesthetic she could call wholly her own.
Today, Kathryn works from her studio (in the San Francisco Bay Area, as an ICB/ART member) ICB/ART, bringing together influences from nature, spirituality, and pop culture into vibrant paintings. Her current work uses bold, bright color and a touch of humor to invite viewers into a world that is at once playful and contemplative.
